Do you need your databases in the proximity of the state of Oregon, the vicinity of Frankfurt, Germany or somewhere near Sydney, Australia? If so, the we have good news as we've now got Compose availability in all those locations.
Our operations team have been working away to bring you the chance to deploy your favorite Compose databases – MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, RethinkDB, etcd, RabbitMQ and now ScyllaDB – in Amazon's data centers in Oregon and Frankfurt, and on Softlayer's Sydney data center.
We take our time when we add a Compose presence in new locations. There's our whole infrastructure of container management and remote telemetry to put in place and tune so it works as smoothly and as we expect. There's the continuous backup system to set in place and configured so they work like clockwork - very advanced clockwork. Once it's all built we then test the locations and finally, we open our doors to new and old customers in those locations.
In practice these new locations mean better latencies for databases in Australia and South East Asia, Central Europe and the North-West US. If you want to get your database closer to where you run your application, check out the new locations. You'll find them in the drop-down list when you create a new deployment.
Who knows where Compose will turn up next? Well, our dedicated operations engineers who'll let us know just when they are ready... we'll let you know straight after that.
