Write about databases and earn with Compose's Write Stuff

Compose's Write Stuff is back for another cycle where you can write articles about databases for Compose's blog for cash and database credits. We're looking for writers, new or experienced, to create articles for us about databases and you'll be rewarded for any article that we publish.

This time round, we're tightening the focus of Write Stuff and asking you to submit articles that are about one or more of Compose's hosted databases or messaging platforms. That's MongoDB, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Redis, RethinkDB, etcd and RabbitMQ. What are we looking for?

If the answer is yes to any of those, we'd like to hear your ideas and help you turn them into fully fledged articles. We're especially looking for people who have the experience but haven't written before; our writing team will offer advice and feedback on your work to help you develop your ideas into compelling content. If you're an experienced writer, we'll be there for you too. We're looking for a minimum word count of 1500 words for articles, but if you want to dip your toe into writing or have a tip or trick thats worth sharing, we also have a shorter "addon" option for 500 word articles. Pick whichever you feel comfortable with writing.

How does this work? Well on the Write Stuff page, we have a form where you can submit your idea. Select whether you want to write an article or addon, give a brief outline of what you want to write about and optionally, give us a sample of your existing writing. We'll look at that and get back to you with feedback about your proposal. If we're happy with what we hear, we'll give you the go ahead to write your article and we'll be there to give feedback about work in progress and drafts.

You can then present your final version and, all being well, it'll be published in the Compose Articles blog. Oh, yes, and apart from the fame, you'll get $200 cash and $200 database credit for articles to let you explore Compose's other databases or to keep your existing databases running. Add-on's earn $100 in cash or credit.

We would really like to hear your ideas and help you get writing. Where there's enough entries in a cycle, we have a $500 cash bonus for the most popular article - sorry add-ons aren't eligible for the bonus.

Talking about bonuses, congratulations to Robert Wysocki - his "PostgreSQL, Backups and everything you need to know" article got him the $500 bonus for the last cycle of Write Stuff.

Do you want to join him as one of Compose's Write Stuff writes? Head over to the Write Stuff page and submit your idea today.
